Description

The National Monument to the Forefathers was dedicated at Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1889. It was commissioned by the Plymouth Society and carved and assembled by the Hallowell Granite Works. It stands 81 feet high and weighs 180 tons. The 36 foot tall central figure "Faith" stands on a 45 foot pedestal. It is the largest granite monument in the United States.
