Conductors, porter, Greenville, 1901

Description

Aboard a parlor car at Greenville in 1901 are, from left, conductor G.O. Hills, porter Jim Hawkins, and conductor Harry Mishar.

Hawkins probably lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A James Hawkins, his wife, Rose, and his brother Conrad, also a porter, are listed in the 1900 census as living together. All are natives of North Carolina.
