N.W. Marston's Store, South Lubec, ca. 1880

Description

Marston's Store was located at the corner of South Lubec Road and Murdock Lane (now Bar Road).

Nathan William Marston was listed as the owner in the 1881 Washington County Atlas. Born 1827 in New Hampshire, he came to Lubec where he became a merchant in 1866.

The Atlas lists him as "a dealer in flour, dry goods, groceries, boots, shoes, country produce, with strawberries being a specialty." He was also listed as a Justice of the Peace and performed many marriages.
