Electrolytic Marine Salts Co., Mill Creek, North Lubec, ca. 1940

Photo taken after Hiram Comstock's "Starvation" Cannery closed. Note "Klondike" written on photo. Text on back describes photo: "The front view, facing west, of Plant No.1 was used for the testing and depositing of gold. It was the grist mill of Hiram Comstock, later used as a sardine factory. The mill pond is in the foreground. Now (1962) only a few short posts remain to mark the location."
