Description

In 1878, church parishioners voted to rebuild the church, which had originally been built in 1837. William H. Glover and Company submitted the lowest bid and were engaged to build a structure for $5,773. This did not include money for glass or the frescoing.

On July 21, 1878, the last service was held in the old house and plans were made to hold services in Union Hall until the new church was completed. For a long time, the old gallery and part of the old stage remained in this Hall. The rededication of the rebuilt church was held Feb. 21, 1879.
