Description

This poster served as an advertisement for the Islesboro Land and Improvement Company, the organization that owned much of the southern end of Islesboro, called Dark Harbor. The map shows the southern half of the island, the locations of the existing summer cottages and a list of owners. The poster also gives contact information for those who were interested in purchasing lots.

Dark Harbor was the third summer resort to be developed on Islesboro, following Ryder's Cove at the upper end of the island and Hewes Point located mid-island.
