Seaside Hotel Commemorative Plate, ca. 1900

This commemorative plate was produced for the Seaside Hotel, located in Ryder's Cove on Islesboro.

The hotel, which was originally called the Islesborough, was the first summer resort hotel built on Islesboro. It expanded over the years and was subsequently called Johnson's-by-the-Sea, but best known as the Seaside Hotel. The hotel was demolished around 1950.

The inscription, with the town misspelled, is "Seaside Hotel, Ilesboro, M"
