Ryder's School, Islesboro, ca. 1880

Ryder's School was built in 1864 and served the Ryder's Cove school district in the northern section of the Island.

The school closed in 1941, when Islesboro schools consolidated and all elementary students attended the centrally located Pendleton School. The Ryder's School building was later converted into a market.
