Governor Brann Ferry, Islesboro, ca. 1935

Description

Islesboro's first ferry, the Governor Brann, docked at Islesboro.

The ferry was designed in Bath and built in Rockland. The Brann was 65 feet long, had a beam of 27 feet, a 160 hp engine and a gross capacity of 91 tons. The fare for cars was $1 and the fare for passengers was 25 cents.
