Description
The first woolen mill in Limerick was established in 1846. In 1896, the mill operation became known as the Limerick Mill Corp.
Yarn woven at the mill was sent to the mills in Sanford to be manufactured into cloth.
Tenements were built around the mill, which expanded in 1928, then faltered during the Great Depression, shutting down operations for four years.
The Limerick Yarn Mills, a woolen manufacturer, began operations in 1935.
