Josiah Pierce on teaching, Paris, 1814

Description

While teaching "60 scholars" in a school in Paris, Josiah Pierce (1792-1866) wrote to his sister Hannah (1788-1873) in Baldwin, describing his boarding situation as well as his teaching experiences.

Hannah also taught school at various times. In 1815, Josiah continued his own studies at Bowdoin College in Brunswick.
