Description

Hannah Pierce (1788-1873) wrote about whether to rent her farm or operate it herself with hired help as needed.

She also commented in the letter to her brother Josiah of Gorham that their brother Daniel, who had continuing financial problems, was planning to sell his farm implements, which she utilized, and she could not afford to buy them and could not work the farm without them.
