Description

Plans for a school, one of the temporary buildings to be constructed at the Passamaquoddy Bay Tidal Power Development in Eastport.

The project, to harness the tides in Cobscook and Passamaquoddy bays to generate electricity, garnered support of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who allocated New Deal funds for its construction.

After the initial $7 million, no more funds were allocated and the project was halted in the summer of 1936.
