Description

Known at the time as the "Great Fire," the Pepperell Cotton Storehouse on Pearl Street in Biddeford burned the night of October 29, 1915.

The loss of $500, 000 made this the most costly fire Biddeford had yet known, as well as one of the most spectacular.
