Description

Ezra Hoyt Byington of Windsor, Vermont received the call extended to him from the First Parish Church on January 10, 1871. He was Pastor until October 1, 1878. He was the 7th Pastor for the First Parish Church. Rev. Byington was the first Pastor to write letters of suggestions to the members of the Parish. He made eight suggestions, of which 3 were carried out fully, 3 were not carried out, but the suggestions resulted in certain improvements and the last two produced no results. Rev. Byington had set himself to the task of modernizing the church, devoting attention to a reorganization of the church, which took place January 2, 1872.
