Letter concerning troops for Louisburg campaign, 1755

Description

Commander Nathaniel Williams wrote from Roxbury, Massachusetts, to Colonel William Pepperrell in Kittery about soldiers onboard a ship waiting for fair winds to sail.

Pepperrell, who had commanded troops at the successful capture of Louisburg, Nova Scotia, from the French in 1745, was commanding a regiment in the French and Indian (Seven Years') War in 1755.
