Thomas Davee (1797-1841), a Democrat from Blanchard who served in the U.S. House of Represenatives from 1837-1841, wrote to Josiah Pierce of Gorham (1792-1866) with whom he had served in the Maine Legislature.
He discusses national politics and seeks information from Pierce on why Maine has "gone into the hands of the Whigs."
