Charles Hall McDonnell and bees, Portland, 1903

Description

Charles Hall McDonnell is holding a bee smoker and standing behind his beehives at 103 Brighton Avenue in Portland in 1903. To the right is his wife, Mary.

McDonnell, a music teacher, used the large packing boxes behind him to cover the bees in the winter.
