Danforth Bridge during 1923 flood

Not available for reproduction or licensing. More info.

Description

The bridge over the Bashegan River in 1923 was carried off its piers. Because there was so much wood in the flooring, the bridge floated down the river for a mile before it stopped on the other side of the river. After the flood was over the community took the bridge apart and restored it to its present day setting.
