Description

The badge was worn by a member of the Granite Cutters' National Union, most likely someone who worked at the Mt. Waldo quarry in Frankfort.

The granite cutters organized in Maine starting in the 1870s and executed a successful strike in Hall Quarry in Mount Desert in 1903.
