Description

Littlefield's Landing at Chebeague Island was originally built for the "Stone Sloopers", ships that carried granite and stone from local Maine quarries to railheads for building in eastern cities.

As ships were replaced by rail, Littlefield's Landing was used more for accommodating a growing tourist industry to the island.
