An unidentified woman and the Forest Service fire lookout tower at Coburn Mountain in about 1920. Watchmen staffed the fire towers and lived in nearby cabins.
The original wood tower was built in 1910. The 24-foot steel tower was built in 1914 at an elevation of 3,718 feet.
In 1938, the cab on top was crushed by ice and rebuilt.
