Description

The photograph shows Northeast Carry at Moosehead Lake -- the point where travelers went from Moosehead to the West Branch of the Penobscot River.

The large white house was known as the Winnegarnock House. The buildings to the left of it are cottages. The area once had a large dock, motel, and post office.
