Description
Clip of recording by Madame Lillian Nordica (opera singer from Farmington) as she sings from Richard Wagner's "Die Walkure: Ho-jo-to-ho!" Brunnhilde's battle cry.
It was likely recorded in 1911 when other recordings were made. This is one of 14 surviving recordings. The commercial recordings were made by Columbia Phonograph Co., New York. All records were 12" discs and the piano accompaniments were played by E. Romayne Simmons.
In Ira Glackens "Yankee Diva," it states that the only issue of this recording is from Columbia matrix XP 20986 cut in New York on 16 April 1937 from a test pressing of the original matrix which was found in a second-hand store in Los Angeles.
