Description

Louis Annance, a St. Francis Indian from the Abenaki village in Odanak, Quebec, was a guide who lived in the Greenville area. He gained fame as one of Henry David Thoreau's guides through the Maine Woods.

He was born August 25, 1794 and died December 15, 1875.
