Description

This is a portrait of Daniel Webster, Fryeburg Academy's first preceptor in the years 1802-1803.

Webster went on the become a United States Senator and served as Secretary of State under many administrations. He helped in the negotiations during the Aroostook War in 1839 on Maine's northern border.
