Description
The McLellan House in Gorham, built by Hugh McLellan of Gorham in 1773, was the first brick house in Cumberland County.
Construction began in 1769. They handmade all the bricks from their own land, using clay procured from the bank of the brook. The house is now part of USM located on School Street.
On the back of the photograph is printed "Souvenir of the 150th Anniversary of the Settlement of Gorham, Maine. May 26, 1886."
