Description
An aerial view of the Portland Company complex, taken from over Portland Harbor, showing the company pier, foreground, where equipment was installed in more than 400 vessels.
The Grand Trunk Railroad went through the company property to its stations, yard, and, at left, grain elevators.
Also there were several piers for freighters to dock alongside to load and unload cargo to and from the freight cars that were pushed out onto the various piers.
