Contributed by Maine Historical Society

Description

The bandmaster of the Ashland Community High School raised his baton for the band to begin playing on the fourth floor rotunda of the Statehouse as legislators formed a line on the third floor to get their special legislative license plates as the 11th Maine Legislature opened in a one-day session. The members were to convene again on January 5, 1983, for a 99-day session.
