Cable pounder, Alexander, 1982

Contributed by Maine Historical Society

Route 9 through Washington County is known as the Airline. Lawrence Lord advertised his business along the Airline by mounting a 1941 Studebaker truck with an old "Cable Pounder" on it as an eyecatcher to the traffic passing by his home and business. The Keystone machine had a 36-foot tall drill post on it.
