Description
Mayor Linda E. Abromson received a team shirt of the proposed Portland Red Sox farm team from team owner Joseph J. Buzas. The Red Sox AA team was being moved from Bristol, Connecticut by owner Buzas. Portland planned to construct a new $500,000 baseball stadium, groundbreaking of which was to begin October 5 if a majority of the City Council approved of the venture.
