Newspaper columnist Harold Boyle, 1982

Description

Guy Gannett newspaper columnist Harold Boyle is shown receiving a Lifetime Service Award from the Maine Press Association in April 1982. He died on August 26, 1982, after a 61-year career at the newspaper. He was financial editor for 36 years.

He retired in 1961, then returned 10 years later to write a series of columns for the Portland Evening Express and the Maine Sunday Telegram.

Boyle also wrote The Best of Boyle, a collection of some of his best-known articles.
