Description

1930s styles favored skirt and blouse separates for their versatility. A 1936 design for a wool Sailor Suit and silk blouse set, offered several fabric combinations, including houndstooth patterns, although the line sheet suggests it "would be lovely in white." The full gigot sleeve blouse gathered at the neck, shoulders and cuffs. The suit was priced at 1000 francs, the blouse at 450.

A Parisian designer sent this line sheet to customers in Maine. It arrived at Maine Historical Society with artist Mildred Burrage's papers.
