Contributed by Mantor Library at UMF

Description

Lambda Epsilon was established in 1930 as the third sorority at Farmington State Normal School. Their motto was “friendship is the golden chain that binds true friends together” and their mascot was an elephant.

The Lambda sisters traditionally held afternoon tea dances and hosted a Cabaret dance each spring. Their community service activities included hosting holiday parties for local children, working with Girl Scout troops, raising funds for Pine Tree Society for Children and Muscular Dystrophy, and helping with Operation Santa Claus.

The sorority officers in 1967 were (back to front) Joan Dion, Denise Wing, Billie Cheney, Jackie Grant, Mary Wallace, Debbie Kendall, Sue Welch, Nancy Avore, Chris Hanson and Sandra Huri.
