Farmington Normal School baseball Team, 1926

Contributed by Mantor Library at UMF

By the 1920s, Farmington Normal School regularly had a baseball team. Although the number of male students enrolled at the college was fairly small compared to female students, there were often enough men to field a team. If necessary, Coach Erroll Dearborn suited up and joined the action if they were a man short.

The team's competition was local high school teams until after World War II when more men began attending college and sports at the college level became more formalized.

The 1926 team played against Wilton Academy, Livermore Falls High School, Abbott School, and Belgrade High School.
