Description

Hannah Farmer opened Rosemary Cottage in Eliot in 1888 as a respite from the unhealthful summer pollution in the cities for mothers and their children.

Farmer turned the property over to the Boston Missionary Society for its summer program entitled "Fresh Air Fund."
