Steam tug Margueritte, Kennebunkport, 1893

Description

The steam tug Margueritte was built by David Clark at Kennebunkport in 1893. The photograph shows her being towed out of the Kennebunkport River on her way to Portland to have her machinery installed. The view in the background is of Kennebunk Lower Village and the Mitchell garrison house, which was built in 1740.
