Description

In 1951, Maine General, Children's Hospital, and Maine Eye and Ear Infirmary merged into Maine Medical Center. Construction began 1954, Arsenal Street was closed to make way for the building which was constructed over it, and nine Bramhall Street houses were purchased and demolished.
