William Bayley to mother, December 1777

William Bayley of the Continental Army wrote to his mother, Jean Bayley of Falmouth, in December 1777 from New Providence, Pennsylvania. His unit was at Washington's headquarters. He informs her that he does not expect to get home during the winter of 1777-78.
