Description

On October 29, 1939, the US Army transferred a large group of officers and enlisted soldiers from Fort Williams and Fort McKinley using the USAT St. Mihiel. Some soldiers were bound for Puerto Rico and the remainder to the Panama Canal Zone.

Written on the reverse: "This was taken off the deck of the St. Mihiel when we were leaving. I'll bet the newspapers didn't get this scene."
