Description

The Miss Houlton float along with Marie Bither, named Miss Houlton, and her entourage made its way through Market square during the Sesquicentennial celebration parade in August of 1957. Nineteen local girls had vied for this coveted royal title.

Winning the Miss Houlton title came with an all-expenses paid three-day trip to New York city with her escort, plus the honor of reigning over the eight days of celebration of Houlton's 150 year birthday.
