Description

The Victory Gate for Houlton's 4th of July celebration in 1919 was installed in Market Square this view was from Court Street.

The Victory Gate was made from cedar branches and a steer was roasted in Market Square for the celebration.

The event celebrated the end of World War I, November 11, 1918.
