"The Province of Maine from the best Authorities," by Samuel Lewis showed mountain ranges and bodies of water as they were in 1794. William Barker engraved the copper plate and the map was published in Philadelphia.
At the very top is the line: "Engraved for Carey's American edition of Guthrie's Geography improved." This was an atlas with maps that depicted different lands of the world and was published in Philadelphia in 1795. The majority of the maps were created by Samuel Lewis and engraved by William Barker, as was this map.
