Greenleaf map of the State of Maine, 1820

Moses Greenleaf created this map in 1820, the same year Maine achieved statehood. The hand-colored map showed the county and township boundaries, along with land ownership.

Moses Greenleaf created several maps of Maine, with each addition more accurate and specific than the previous. William B. Annin engraved this map on a copper plate in Boston.

The western and northern boundaries of Maine later expanded.
