Description
Cased ambrotype portrait of a young woman. The mat was stamped "Ambrotype by R. Adams [Rufus Adams, Portland Maine], Cutting's, T. July 4, 1854." It is unclear whether the July 4th date refers to the day the photo was taken, or the mat's patent date.
