Description

Amelia Earhart (1897-1937) visited the Scarborough Airport, also known as Portland Municipal Airport, in 1933. Earhart's visit was to spark an interest in flying within young girls and women, and to promote commercial flying as a more safe and convenient way to travel long distance.
