Bangor and Aroostook Railroad switch lantern, ca. 1920

Description

This lamp would be lit and placed on a shaft attached to a track switch. The green light indicated that the switch was set for through traffic and the red light indicated that the switch was set to send the train into the siding. A switch lantern in use can be seen at MMN image: 10455.
