Description

Three bricklayers posed for a tintype studio portrait holding tools of their trade, bricks and trowels. In this era of photography portraiture, it was common for subjects to pose with implements that denoted their occupation. It was also popular to hand-color aspects of a photograph. The men's cheeks have been colored pink.
