Crooked River landing at Scribners Mills, Harrison, 1939

Description

Logs were staged on the frozen river for transport by stream to a mill, following the spring ice melt.

The Northeastern Timber Salvage Administration oversaw such salvage logging efforts in the aftermath of the New England Hurricane of 1938.
