Description
Workers on a horse-pulled sled unload hardwood logs onto the ice to await the spring break-up at Lovewell Pond, near the White Mountain National Forest.
Logs were staged on the frozen pond for transport by stream to a paper mill, following the spring ice melt. The U.S. Forest Service scaler can be seen on the far right of the image.
